Safety Manager

The Miller Group is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety practices across our construction projects.

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, minimizing risk, and fostering a strong safety culture on job sites.

The position will support all three of our operating companies:

  • Balicore Construction – Vertical Construction
  • Trident Civil – Heavy Civil Construction
  • Miller Group – Real Estate Development

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage site-specific safety programs and policies

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and company

safety procedures

• Conduct regular job site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments

• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions

• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training

• Partner with project managers and supervisors to enforce safety protocols

• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records

• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance

• Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)

• 5+ years of construction safety experience

• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926)

• OSHA 30-hour certification required (OSHA 500 preferred)

• CSP, CHST, or similar certification preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods on active construction sites

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally

• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

• Ability to traverse uneven terrain and navigate active job sites safely

• Must be comfortable working at heights and around heavy equipment

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots

• Must have sufficient visual and hearing ability to recognize hazards and communicate effectively on-site

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in commercial and/or industrial construction

• Knowledge of fall protection, confined space, and excavation safety

• Strong organizational and reporting skills

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
