Asbestos was supposed to be a problem yesterday. Then someone cored a wall, pulled up a floor, or opened a ceiling panel, and today’s problem was staring back at them.

If you work in Hampton Roads, you work around buildings, shipyards, and infrastructure that were built when asbestos was standard issue. Knowing how to spot it, respond to it, and see it safely through to disposal isn’t optional knowledge for an EHS professional. It’s core competency.

That’s why we’re bringing you Tracey Walden, managing partner at C.M. Noble Corporation of Virginia, a Virginia Beach firm that has spent decades doing this work for real: licensed asbestos and lead abatement, demolition, and hazardous material handling across the Commonwealth. Tracey doesn’t teach this from a slide deck he borrowed. He’ll walk us through the full life cycle of hazardous materials, cradle to grave:

• Recognizing suspect materials before they become a project-stopper
• Understanding what the regulations demand at every stage from first discovery to final disposal
• Handling abatement, containment, and transport the right way (and what happens when it’s done the wrong way)
• Closing the loop on documentation, disposal, and the liability that follows hazardous waste long after the truck leaves your site

“Cradle to grave” isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s how the law sees your responsibility. Tracey will show you what that means in practice, with stories from the field you won’t get from a refresher course.

Whether you manage construction sites, facilities, or safety programs, this session answers the question you hope you never have to ask on a random morning
