You know the moment. The lights dim, the projector hums, and the first slide says: “We apologize for the poor video quality.”

Everyone in the room sinks a little lower in their chair. We’ve all sat through that class, and plenty of us have taught it.

Fred Wilton decided enough was enough.

Fred is a Master Trainer and the content creator for Granite Safety. He made the tired, grainy OSHA presentations used across the country and rebuilt them from scratch. He combined modern AI tools with nearly 30 years in the field to turn them into safety training that is customizable, engaging, and fun. His goal is simple: safety training should work, and people should enjoy it. Keeping workers safe starts with good training, and it only works if people walk out understanding what they learned.

Fred has also done this work in the field. He is a Certified Safety Professional with a B.S. in Safety Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His background includes:

• Western Region Safety Director at Clark Construction, where he led 14 safety professionals across a region billing more than $1 billion a year and managed Clark’s Cal/OSHA VPP program
• Lead SSHO on the Naval Hospital project at Camp Pendleton for NAVFAC Southwest
• Safety & Environmental Manager at Haselden Construction, where he helped the company reach the lowest incident rates in its 30-plus-year history
• Western Region Business Director at FDR Safety
• Founder of Synergy-Safety, LLC, which provides training, consulting, and expert witness services
• Expert witness in more than 20 legal cases, involvement in more than 100 OSHA inspections, and hundreds of safety classes taught

Fred has worked with a wide range of clients, including Lockheed Martin, Intel, Home Depot, and the Bonneville Power Administration. He knows what effective training looks like, and he has seen what happens when training falls short.
